It's really not a bad video overall, interesting more than anything, but I am into abandoned places especially ones that still have stuff in them, like someone there today, gone tomorrow but everything is still there waiting.

I love Costco. Their customer service is second to non. They treat their staff well...so have little staff turn around. If I can buy it from Costco...I will.

There service was always good, we just found there wasn't enough value, but again they are not exactly the place to shop at when on a limited budget.

This Target ad from 1996, TV's I guess were kind of pricey back then? Considering Best Buy has 32" ones now for under $200. I had not entered real life yet in 1996 so wasn't buying such things so no idea what the prices were like really. $279 would have taken me 54 hours of work at the job I had in 1996, By comparison my last job at the airport, would take about 10 hours of labor to buy a TV, so TV's seem better value now.

They're going to need a lot of help to avoid a short-term disaster. There was already a food shortage, and now all the wheat that was in warehouses in the port area is gone, and so is the port. Hospitals that were trying to cope with pandemic victims now have thousands of injured from the blast. While they're still digging for survivors they should be getting airlifts of emergency rescue crews, medical personnel and supplies, and truck convoys of food. If it's going to take a long time to clear enough piers to start unloading ships again, they might need a portable harbour of some sort. Just repairing the damage to gas and water mains from an explosion like this will be a formidable task.

From what I've read it started in a firework factory, then spread to the warehouse next door which was full of Ammonium Nitrate, potent explosive, and that went up. From after pictures it could have been worse, there was a multistory building partly sheilding the rest of the city which is almost totally destroyed, if that hadn't been there. Part of the port has just disappeared. So far there have been relief flights from Russian, Iran and one other Asian country, NOTHING so far from the West. Wake up Johnson and Trump, stop the blockade.

Australia's sent $2 million in initial humanitarian aid, $1 million each to the Red Cross and the World Food Programme. Further aid will be provided, in addition to the current $220 million over 3 years already budgeted for.

I'm going to have a quick look now but I'd be very surprised if the UK government hasn't already contributed. The US, less surprised.

I doubt the US will send much, if anything as they still have a strict blockade on any of the items the Lebanese will need like medical supplies.
