It's a pretty common restriction in place by strata's. Theory is bikes bring in moisture and dirt and increase wear and tear on the public areas.

Living in strata owner or tenant you have to live by the rules the strata council puts in place or face consequences such as fines.

Yeah I know you have to abide by the rules, it's just that I think this rule is ridiculous. I assume the public areas get cleaned regularly and as for wear and tear, just put down something tough and hardwearing on the floors you minge bags! Sorry, I just get really angry at landlords who are happy to take the rent money but place unreasonable restrictions on tenants. Whether owned or rented, where you live is supposed to be a home. I agree that stratas need to have some rules, but denying people the right to have a bicycle isn't one of them.

Would be nice if strata's were not so strict about bikes. I like riding a bike for exercise but no bikes allowed in the building, but there is no available room in the bike storage rooms, (they cost $100 a month to begin with) and locking it on the street, well probably wouldn't last the first night...lol

Could you join this, perhaps? (I realise money is tight and it may not be feasible) - just thought I'd mention it in case. https://vancouver.ca/streets-transpo...re-system.aspx

I have been contacted today by an acquaintance on FB. She has asked me if we would know of anyone who would be interested in a low mileage 1999 Miata, she attached pics and a bit of info. I thought, ok I'll bite. Asked what sort of money she was thinking.

This was the response:

I paid the leather pkg on it, then added about 10k...so over 40 k...thought if I had to advertise & hassle I’d start at 20 k ( less than half)....willing to negotiate a bit. My mechanic drools but no place to put it....he said he could give info on it if anyone wanted. It loves to go!!
It’s getting a bit harder to get in & out...& we kinda need an SUV more. I get winter tires on it & the guys laugh because of low kms...it doesn’t see winter unless it’s a necessity...totally spoiled!

Err, yeah, I said she might be better advertising a convertible in Spring. What are people like?

How much would it be worth?

Nice little car...she’s never going to get what she’s looking for it. The big pain where I am is that these kind of cars have to be put to bed and wrapped up for a whole six months...I’ve got a Citroen 2CV and a Chrysler Crossfire who have been put to bed till Spring, and it’s another bit of work that those in warmer parts don’t have to consider.

I have been up all night with wind....nature...outside, not mine physically  It sounds like Fredericton is blowing away...it’s scary the sound of strong gusting wind at night, you know that damage is happening but can’t see where:blink:

Probably not - Auto Trader and Kijiji have them for far less money but I noticed some in the US that are up to $13,500 USD. They're almost all low mileage except for the ones that are going cheap. My van was over $40,000 Cdn when new in 2002 and I got it for $2,500 4 years ago at 250,000 km in great condition. If I could get the same deal today I'd take it like a shot.

I asked Mr Piff, 'What would a '99 Miata be worth?' He asked what's it like? I said excellent condition, low miles. He replied, $5K? Maybe a bit more.

Tell me about moving cars and winter storing! We have just spent the last few weekends shuffling cars around for their winter beds it's like one of those puzzles with little squares that you have to move around to get the picture. All because someone wants to do engine work on one ready for paint in the spring. That was in the back corner of the shop, needed to come into the garage attached to the house that has heat and tools, which menat the Ranchero had to come out. He then bought the Golden Wonder (a '76 I think Lincoln Continental) which went where the Torino was, the challenger needs to go back in the shop along with the Ranchero, (shouldbe in place this weekend) Bikes have been moved, some cars sold (phew). Everything made harder because of snow and ice, the ice puddle in the shop needs to defrost around the stuck boxes before the challenger goes in, thankfully Mother Nature has seen our plight and blessed us with a warmer weekend.

Yes she is, I think she thought we would buy it, hmm, no OH is thinking of a Bentley Arnage at the moment, strangely enough you can pick them up for just a few thousand more than this Miata.
