eg Box A costs them 50c and $2 to Canada Post/courier plus whatever wage cost of packing it. $6 charge to customer. Profit $3.50 minus wage. Box B costs 70c and $4 to Canada Post/courier as oversize. Double the postal costs are passed on to customer in the form of double postage/packing, so $12. Profit $7.30 minus same wage cost. I may have exaggerated the figures but even if it's only an extra 10c per item that must mount up for Amazon. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...ddea190367.gif |

They also presumably put everything on pallets to dispatch it. So it you had a hundred different types of boxes to stack on a pallet it would be like a 3D puzzle at Amazon every day

I've never had a bottle break in my luggage, and I pack them in heavy wool work socks.

I've just read that St Patrick's Day is a stat holiday in Newfoundland and Labrador! Very civilised.

On Monday 20th the Forces Sweetheart, Dame Vera Lynn, turns 100 years of age. Her singing/songs helped/inspired so many Brits to get through the darkest days of WWll. Supposedly her image will be shown on the White Cliffs of Dover on Monday. A true British treasure.
