The mini 14 is a .223 has a little more umph - big enough for a coyotee.

Downtown Vancouver has lots of raccoons, especially in Stanley Park where tourists like to hand-feed them crap!

In New Brunswick, Raccoons are frequent visitors to the whelbourn backyard in the summer and autumn. Red squirrels are tame visitors taking peanuts from your hands.
Jules has found a couple of snakes while gardening
(perfectly harmless) and I bumped into a skunk and managed to get back behind the garage before it sprayed
We had a bear in the back garden and turned over our composter but disappeared later.

I had a shock when i first saw one. For some reason I thought they were the size of squirrels. The first i saw was the size of medium dog! I did n't know what it was! Scared the hell out of me.

Also, about 4 years ago, we had a cougar trapped in someones kitchen.
