Prince Harry and Meghan ......

Harry & Meg announce a new baby on the way. Interesting to read the comments on Twitter*. It's hard to differntiate between sarky/ironic British "congratulations" and gushing/genuine American congratulations.
*Ahem - Piers Morgan's Twitter. So his comments are obviously of the former variety.

Honestly, they are two people who appear to be in love with one another and they are having a 2nd child. Congratulations to them both but as a result of this announcement the sun will still rise in the east tomorrow.

Couple who want privacy decide to issue a press release announcing a pregnancy...

Usually there are several days of rumours, whispers, paparazzi photos to see if there's a bump or a glow or whatever and various other intrusions like following to Mothercare or whatever.
Essentially lots of attention and it's now been avoided. Or at least reduced.

Soon to be seen with Oprah.

I guess it's not so much privacy they wanted, as a chance to monetize their celebrity. Certainly that would be Meghan's m.o., and given her non Britsh background, it's perhaps not as hypocritical as it seems. In Harry's case, he probably views the money chasing media as the cause of his mother's death, and therefore is prepared to ive up his royal status (effectively) to have a certain control (and monetary benefit) over his public image. Second tier royal puppets in the passe soap opera that is the monarchy or independent income-earning celerbrities in Hollywood. I can see a logic in it.

Even more cheesy I thought, was the statement that they had made the announcement on February 14 because that was the day that Charles and Diana had announced her second pregnancy,, which of course was Harry.
She certainly looked more than 3 months pregnant in that photo, though a late announcement might not be unusual in view of her miscarriage last year, they'd want to be super sure.

Coming from someone who is currently 18.5 weeks and is no way near as petite as her...I would say she has to be at least 24 weeks.

The only thing I found cheesy was Harry's big foot in the foreground of the photo. Not very royal IMO. And maybe that's his point.
