Oh that coast looks wonderful.
San Diego also has miles and miles of sandy beaches, I just prefer the cliff sides. Tide wasnt low enough on my trip to get good tide pools, but still saw some.neat ocean life.

The inland valley can get into high 30s in summer and deserts into the 40s.
The San Diego region consists of coastal, coastal inland, mountains and desert.
On the coast and 90 mins later in the desert.

Typically the coast does not get much over 30c in warm months. July to October are the warmest months.

Desert is nice in winter, but not so much rest of the year, where my mom lives it can get up to 120F-122F at points, 115F is more normal, even today early March it was 28C which is too hot for me.
