Beautiful picture. I love the Lakes too, apart from the coach drivers.

I have a 20 (plus) year old picture of a very rain-drenched me standing outside Mrs Tiggy-winkle's. Hope you get better weather.

We drove through Ambleside on the way home though not Bowness

This morning started off overlooking Windermere in the sun- then Snoop and I followed in the foosteps of Teaandtoday5 to Beatrix Potter's Hilltop- some Lakeland scenery and Dove Cottage in Grassmere, Wordsworth's house there, all in all a good day. We are now in Manchester and the Lakeland weather is sadly reverting to type tomorrow with rain.

Last night at the Legion before it closes. It was a brilliant night that was somewhat tarnished by my ill-judged joke about the cultural preoccupation of falating polar bears at the end of my karaoke rendition of Paper Roses.

Not sure. My guess its from people moving tables and chairs around after a few drinks.

It's a water not a lake, apparently there are only two lakes in the Lake District, the others are meres and waters I believe

I was using the capitalised abbreviation for Lake district- I sometimes use that as I'm lazy- we went to Grasmere lake, Windermere Lake and Coniston pond

Sounds like you're having a lovely time, I'm really glad that you're back on your paws again Your avatar photo makes my eyes sting though - don't know what it was about Jake but every time I see a photo of him it turns this hard bitten old boiler into a sook!

Aww thanks- we had a great time apart from my hospital troubles-
Sadly we are sat at Calgary airport waiting for the Kelowna flight and back to reality - toys and dog bed clearing time - they are going to the local rescue centre. His ashes will be scattered in his favourite haunts that he loved
