Yes, there are a good number here, I think that they were introduced by the early British Orchard owners in the Okanagan and they just bred- not as numerous as the Californian quail which are everywhere but so cute with fantastic parents shepherding their babies.

The southern tip of Baja California. It wasn't just the whales breaching. Around there the rays fly. OK, flying might be pushing it, but they hurl themselves three or four feet out of the sea, flap their wings (of fins, whatever is the right term) madly and, when they fail to get any further airborne, belly flop loudly back into the water.

My sister and BIL have just been cruising those waters...they saw many whales breaching, dolphins and Ray's leaping out of the water. I am so upset we couldn't make that cruise it sounded fabulous.

Never gone out on the water there, but have been to that region a few times, very nice part of Mexico.
