Speed was 75 Km/hr in a 60 Km/hr lane. I was in the second lane and not the high speed one, I had my son - I would not speed up at all, I have never received any speed tickets anywhere in the world (this is factual), it was a weekend day (therefore, no rush to get to work, for example).

And trust me, if traffic cops got a commission on tickets issued, I'd jump ship in an instant.
If nothing else, i'm sure testimony was entertaining in what was likely an otherwise dull day

To the OP: you were speeding; you were nicked: pay up and shut up.

These people can be totally unreasonable when it comes to this type of thing. Didn't the judge comprehend your sense of outrage and indignation and take that into account? I think you got right royally stitched up mate and I don't blame you for being so pissed off with the system.
It's precisely this kind of injustice that has made me take the bus.

You are either a troll, or your sense of entitlement is simply outstanding....chalk it up to experience and slow down....believe me there isn't a speed limit for those travelling on their own and a different speed for those travelling with their 'son'.

I would suggest you take it up with the UN human rights folks. Or maybe claim refugee status somewhere claiming discrimination from Canadians.

No matter what, you WERE speeding, therefore you deserved the ticket you got...
if you don't want a ticket, don't break the speed limit - it is as simple as that...
IT doesn't matter one iota that you have never received a ticket anywhere else in the world - you were speeding in Alberta, you got caught on camera, you got a ticket...
Suck it up and stop moaning!

I was caught driving in a bus lane last time I was back in the UK. This lane was not a bus lane the last time I had driven along that road, (Greenford BTW). I believe that I should have been informed of the change and so the ticket was not valid.
They sent me a photo of the car to prove it and said that there was a video as well. I think this is an outrageous waste of public finances. What should I have done?
PS There was no snow at the time but I did notice that the Harvester pub was now a different brand. This was distracting

I think that anyone should be allowed to do any speed that they want to do in any part of Alberta. At least it will help you to leave the place quickly.
As Oakvillian said, if you can't do the time, don't commit the crime.
I speed, and I've not got a ticket for speeding yet. But that's probably a combination of luck and my extensive use of the safety car principle.
At 75 in a 60 you were 25% over the limit and therefore should accept the ticket and pay it.

In response to Fleds post, I think you should maybe have downloaded some statistics from the internet (number of busses in bus lanes, pubs that change name that kind of thing), and fought it with every bone in your body.
Then when you lose you should move to another country.
