Haha nice. There's nothing wrong with iPhones, they're great phones, especially if you want a phone that "just works". A lot of people are all "omg I heart Android and HATE iPhone!" or vice versa... I think it more just depends what you want out of your phone. If you want something that just works and you won't mess up, iPhone is great. If you're like me and you like to tinker and customize and play, then Android is great.

Enjoy the new phone!

I agree. We have both and they're both great. The only problem is what to do with all the photos (!) some on iOs and some on Android, although they keep pushing cloud back up.

Google photos or Dropbox. Works on both platforms and backs up all pictures to one spot. Dropbox also is good for multiple people's photos being backed up to the same place, my husband and I have the same account set up for Dropbox and all our photos are automatically backed up to one common spot. :-)

My phone does backups to Google, and I have used that storage in the past it when it was Picasa, so quite a few already on there. The hesitation I have now is the subscription fee. I think I initially signed up when it was $5 per year and that gave quite a bit of storage (can't remember the figure) but I noticed on the phone it gives the option to do a "hi quality" back up or a "original" (full size) back up, and there was a big difference in storage required. It's the kind of thing which you can see really adding up over time, and my photos are a mix of important family photos and random unnecessary photos. So, still doing some full backups to hard disks and some "high quality" (which isn't highest quality) backups to the cloud.

Yeah we ended up just paying the fee to Dropbox to be able to have backups - $100/year for 1TB of space. More than enoguh. And that backs up pictures and videos from phones in full quality as well, instead of just the optimized version. It works well for us, and Dropbox is linked to the laptop as well, so that's also backed up.

Whatever works for your needs, really. I do use Google as well (easier to then attach pictures directly from my Google account), bt I just use the optimized option on there. IT's good enough for email.
