Google Nexus 5x 32gig is $249.00
https://fi.google.com/about/phones/
To get that price you might have to sign up for Google Fi Network, but the phone is unlocked and there is no contract, so you can jump ship after a month. It has finger scan lock and is up to Android 7.12 at the moment.

I'm waiting for the new Blackberry Android with buttons, the KeyOne, due out in May.
Thankfully they extended whatsapp on blackberry OS to June to my Q5/Z30 are still going well, but the Q5 is coming up for 3 years old and feeling more than a little tired.
Koodo for international calls.

I have a new phone!!! I have an LG5 LG! Don't know the first thing about it...but apparently...it's good!
Actually, as of today I'm reasonably happy with it, because I have taken the time to be acquainted with its aps and functions. So much of my life has been spent worrying about stupid dates and deadlines that now are completely unecessary

I have been having a small issue with my battery not reliably charging fully overnight but I think it's my changer...

Speaking of Android phones...
After my phone updated to Android 7 / Nougat, I am noticing that there is often a "residual screen effect" whereby I can see faint "screen burn" like images of previous screens/apps? It's not actual screen burn, as the very faint ghost image changes from time to time, but it's often visable. For example, say I've been looking at Gmail, and then go to look at a photo where there is an expanse of sky or field or whatever, underneath that expanse I can see faintly visible ghost images of the Gmail screen. Anyone else on Android experience that?

What does "goes away after a bit" mean? Is it that if you stay on the new (switched) app a long time the ghost image fades away?

I don't have it on my G4.

I most common ghosting I get on my phone is the status bar, the android bottom buttons, and occasionally the keyboard. I also have one app I use that has a floating icon when is open and that often ghosts as well.
But again they all disappear reasonably quickly.
Siouxie's app suggestion is worth looking into, I'll investigate after the holiday weekend.

The KeyOne will be very much a smartphone, if less of a multi media device.

The keyboard was a great feature of the Blackberry, that and the lack of predictive text. I was able to format and send most messages in one try using the Blackberry whereas, with the Android, I usually don't bother but boot the PC - it's less hassle to respond from there.

Two days after this they announced the arrival of LG G6! So I know why I got it at such a favorable price. I'm not really a phone sort of woman, but I like to feel smug (occasionally) when something I have functions better than the rest around me...even IF I'm not getting the very best out of all the multi possible functions
