Thank you - that's why he was named after me (at least that's what I tell everyone)

We only have one Rottie now - the only one had to be put down.

She (Rottie) has taken to him (Akita) very well. He is full of life, she isn't. When he gets too much for her, she lets him know and, for a minute or two, life is peaceful. Then repeat

I have small Shitszu named Maddison but my husband calls her Taz, from Tazmanian Devil, and Siberian Husky named Keisha, but grandaughter calls her Whacko, both still back in Canada

Do you have a funny or cute story about how your pet got its name?

We have 3 calves T Bone, Bullet and Twillight, named for obvious reasons by us!!

And 7 cats called

Pudding (named by me cos thats what I used to call her if that made sense!!!)

and the kittens were named by the children in the family (ages of the nmaers in brackets

Maple (named by you guys)
PC (4 year old )
Mitten (9 year old)
Cupcake (7 year old)
Strike (3 year old)
Doodoo (5 year old)

why? do you need kids to justify the names they give animals!!!!!!!

Well yeah. If my six year old named our fluffy persian Josef Mengele, the Angel of Death, I'd want an explanation.

point taken

Previous pets have been

Radar - horse - came with the name - left with my boot up its arse

Elvis - cat - came with the name - left with a wheel mark over his head

Onion - ferret - my idea for the name - gave it away cos i got bored (as you do as a kid)

Leroy - budgie - I named him after one of the Fame characters - died after being put in the oven and then strangled.

Gucci - deaf white cat - i named him - died, another victim of a large tire

Armani - cat - i named him to go with the above - died from a gun shot by a game keeper

And a few more with equally random names and untimely demises
