yes but the replies between each post will be about a half hour apart as people play with their formatting!!!!!!

once you've got it how you think it ought to look, just highlight all the relevant text in the reply window and click the "wrap {CODE} tags about the selected object" button. That's all.

It's not really a feature that BE needs, but the forum software has it built in because many techy geeky forums that use the same software are used to post snippets of computer code, where the exact formatting and numbers of spaces can make a difference to the syntax. "Regular" forum posts are in plain vanilla HTML which strips out superfluous spaces.
