Hi Arty, we are normally up for drinks Friday or Saturday nights as it's easiest to get a babysitter for the kiddos. Perhaps we should arrange our own meet-up with Souvy?

French Canadian women seem to have a habit of kidnapping Brit men.
I'm up in Cote d'Azur/Limbour, near the Alonzo bridge, and I'm not liking what I see out of my window this morning

How is your French coming along? Hubby's is making some progress not thanks to me (much easier to speak English)You'dthink I would be used to the snow as I have lived in Canada all my life (albeit with a 10-year stint in snowless Vancouver) but I was equally depressed by the sight this morning. Hubby is delighted of course, I give him 3 more years before he starts looking forward to a sun destination holiday the second it starts snowing as I did this morning

Maybe we have unresolved issues about the British conquest of 1758 and want to convert all brits to French

My French is not as good as I would like it to be but it's not too bad. I learned French in France many, many years ago. I then forgot most of it, although I still have a French/French accent, apparently. I switch between the two according to who I'm talking to. I find most people do, despite what some people may think about this province. My missus habitually talks to me in French and I reply in English. If my stepson is around, we end up with 3-way conversations. It has raised eyebrows in public places.
Your hubby will lose his enthusiasm for snow. I'm very pleased that my abris went up last week.

Hi All,
does anyone know if there are any meet ups scheduled for Kanata or surrounding areas.
We have been here for over two months and would really like to meet up with some folk for a few beers or something.
If anyone is up for a tipple or two ,get in touch
cheers

I just saw your post as don't come on BE very often now.
We'd be up for a drink! We are in Russell (south-east of Ottawa).
Hope you're enjoying the snow! Not much so far :-(
