Hi All,
does anyone know if there are any meet ups scheduled for Kanata or surrounding areas.
We have been here for over two months and would really like to meet up with some folk for a few beers or something.
If anyone is up for a tipple or two ,get in touch
cheers

DandNHILL,
Looks like we will have to come and visit youlol
I think we are the only ones in Ottawa, or the natives are shy.

There seem to be a few BE members from your area, but not much mention of meet-ups...
Despite living in Saint-Perpetua-in-the-Back-of-Nowhere Qc, I have made it to a couple of Toronto gatherings, because they coincided with other plans to be there; well worth it. I could do Ottawa (it's not *that* far from me) too, possibly, if I could tie it into other reasons to visit.
(On the other hand, I promised to try & meet up with a MTL BE member ages ago, as I'm in the city regularly, but haven't been able to make that work
. ).
Some years ago, I used to be in Ottawa quite often, & there seemed to be quite a lot of Brit gatherings going on. Have you had a look at meet-up.com?

Arty...in the east we are a little scattered! Bristol and I fly the flag for our respective bits....sometimes one does miss a fellow Brit....that's why I love BE...I'll never get to a meet up, as they're too far away, and in a way that's good too...all the friends that I have on here....(and yes, after this length of time I consider very many of the posters as friends) I feel that I know quite well, but I'm not constrained by how they look, it's sort of like a silent version of The Archers but with written responses!
Some years ago in Europe, I really wanted to meet other parents with bi-lingual school aged kids, so I put posters up in a 40 km radius in supermarkets and the response was incredible. It was really successful; a club was started and they still meet twice a month now. Might be worth a thought. Very best of luck
