Yes, of course.
A classic description when used to sell a house over here:

Realtor speak: "Unfinished and unspoiled basement"

Reality speak: "This basement is a damp, dull, empty hole which will swallow your money."

The pub at the end of the street where we lived until recently. The architecture is typical of older suburbs and isn't very different from that in English cities. The pub's now been closed because the people who ran it did and sold a lot of drugs and were too out of it to pay the rent.

Infill housing. This used to be the racetrack, the area is known locally and derisively as Pleasantville. Those little houses all squashed together originally sold for $1,200,000 and up.

Railway cottages. Nice and gentrified but cramped by Canadian standards.
The last picture looked liked where my Mum's Aunt stays in Manchester.

Of course, by LAW, the selling agent is required to clearly state that on all the paperwork. It is done that way so that no one is later able to say that they didn't KNOW about the history of the house.

It was used for a grow op. Avoid. Run, dont walk.

Heat and humidity = major mould issues, possibly in places that you cant even see.

They call this London. Does it make anyone think of London? Notice the 2 hockey arenas in the foreground.

It does look a bit like Harlesden. I think most modern Canadian development has that look of sixties Sovietish drabness.
