In all fairness to the North of England. There are some beautiful areas. Derbyshire, the Lakes, Saddleworth, the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales.... with lots of quaint smaller market towns. There are also some nice smaller towns such as Lancaster, Chester or York for instance. I think what is dank that the major cities tend to be all similar with awful inner-city areas, largely made up of either terrace houses or crappy council estates.
