Tonight there was one of those truck and trailer combos stuck across the road. Turning left, the driver had misjudged where the road was and slid the tractor into the ditch. It looked as if the rig had just pulled out of a driveway so, I suppose, the trailer was full of pigs or cows. That wasn't getting going again easily. We turned back and came home along swamp street. That road is pictured before there was a lot of snow, now it's white from tree to tree so, when a car comes the other way one must move aside cautiously, the swamp is right there.

Rain and grey again today. Looks like a break Thursday, then a nice weekend though. *fingers crossed for some sun*

Whiteout conditions today, we're advised to stay off the roads. A fine idea for people unencumbered by employment.

Could you not just offset any loss of earnings by not buying cheese for a couple of days?

Heavy blowing snow on swamp street tonight, very limited visibility. A deer ran across the road. In front of us, but a fair way off. A raccoon was in the middle of the road and ran ahead of us in the same direction the car was going, that was a nearer miss, A scary drive. Luckily there's only another five months of this ahead.

This isn't even bad weather for this spot, and I hate going over it when the road isn't bare. Hit Replay the Day the Weather and choose which time is best to try. Hint, blinding fog can put you over the edge as quick as snow and ice.

Yeah.... we were just told the money for our plane tickets has been mailed, the family decided without us that we weren't driving into the interior from the island for Christmas. Total trip time is about the same (for work-dictated departure time have to go via Alberta) but we won't have the worries of driving through it :/

I wont drive into the interior for the most part in winter, although 2 years ago, needed to go to Kelowna and had to plan it based on weather forecast, got in and out between storms, road was 95% bare so not too bad, if any hint of snow, I will postpone.

I bet you never have to buy a Christmas tree.

Well no, we can look out of the window to see Christmas trees garlanded in snow and lit by the light of the silvery moon any time from the end of October to the middle of April. Tra-la-bloody-la.
