When we got a cat a few months after moving over, I insisted that he be called either 'Winston' or 'Churchill' as I wanted to cling to the old country a bit. Winston won out over Churchill. A couple of years ago when we got a kitten, the Mrs looked askance at me when I suggested we call it 'Hitler' so, as it was a she we settled on Clemmie. (& a bonus smartie for anyone who can tell me why we chose that particular name.)

Cat's female and Clemmie or Clementine was Churchill's wife.
