I do do it via PM if it's related to mod actions. This thread has nothing to do with me being a moderator - it's not broken any rules or required me to 'operate' as a mod. I've just posted as a BE member.

I know you didn't agree with the celeb death threads either, but people were perfectly entitled to post them, read them, comment on them, etc. If some people want to ignore them, that's fine, but I was just pointing out that there is no need for the sarcasm.

Whether you like it or not the word MODERATOR is there in bold letters under your name and it has meaning.

If you want to get into these kinds of issues with Butch and others then perhaps you should resign as a moderator or find a way to remove the word from under your name when you are posting as just yourself.

You have to realise that when you took on the responsibility of being a moderator you have accepted a position that is above the regular poster.

But he doesn't like to talk about it. Well, except with the media, then I bet you can't shut him up.

Please read site rule no. 12 Steve, which clearly states that us mods are entitled to express our own opinions on the forums.

We are allowed to comment on threads, share our thoughts and views, etc, just the same as anybody else - as long as we don't break site rules obviously!

IMO, he's only doing it because he's getting fat. He's too posh as well.

You know if I could put you on my ignore list I would happily do it but because of your position I can't do that.

cgaff - love it. I've made a mental bookmark of that one for future use. And the delectable Izzard is far more interesting that most live people, never mind dead ones. Of all the so called celebridees I've met, he's one of the few you'd want to have round for dinner, and could listen to for hours. Along with David Walliams' channel swim, this is a hell of a feat by a non-athlete and worth celebrating.

As for the dead 'uns... yep, cgaff. That's why I didn't respond to that thread, or bother to respond to this one until I saw the saintly Steve P get into a fight with CO over Butch. Then I could give a ff.

Posh eh? That seals it. He needs to die on a spike or come to some such end suitable for the higher classes. Then we can have thread about it and balance will be restored.

This thread had the potential to be quite entertaining. As it is, we are heading for a rather dull re-run of the 'Oh So Quiet.......' thread ... yawn.

The rules don't necessarily always make any sense, though, do they?

Rule #10:
The forums/private message, blog and email system are not to be used for the purpose of research, (questions, surveys or polls).

What the heck's the majority of the site for then?

Ah, we get one of those type of threads every so often I'm afraid. It's just one of the great things about BE. Be prepared for another re-run in a few weeks.

I wasn't looking to illicit a response, it was a rhetorical question, in case I was falling foul of the asking a question rule
