As people have been reading about them I would say they are newsworthy. It doesn't interest me, but it doesn't annoy me either. Mostly cos I just don't care.

Wow, good for Eddie Izzard. That's an incredible feat.

Haven't heard about it before though, but the tv news I've just watched led with Swayze's death. Eddie's fundraising efforts should be more newsworthy, but doesn't appear that they are.

Joe Strummer was the last celebrity whose death with which I shocked and saddened.

As non-media celebrities go, Richard Rorty and Jacques Derrida deaths bothered me quite a bit. Couldn't care less that Michael Jackson or any film stars that have popped off recently.

Feel free to think it's pathetic and tedious. But no need to repeatedly have a go at other people that find it interesting.

Different strokes for different folks and all that. Just skip over the threads that don't interest you Butch, and don't bother to comment on the ones that you don't approve of, or to start two other separate threads just to moan about it.
