But, thanks to him, now I've got no excuses when I'm slobbing in front of the TV, eating Pringles in my best frock. The b*****d. |

sorry I had completley forgotten the rule that everything has to be run by Butch before posting to see whether he deems it acceptable or not. How remiss of me. |

Re: Which is more 'newsworthy'?
Joe Strummer was the last celebrity whose death with which I shocked and saddened.
As non-media celebrities go, Richard Rorty and Jacques Derrida deaths bothered me quite a bit. Couldn't care less that Michael Jackson or any film stars that have popped off recently. |

Or would you like to see the forum degenerate into online obiturary 'Hollywood'? Different strokes for different folks and all that. Just skip over the threads that don't interest you Butch, and don't bother to comment on the ones that you don't approve of, or to start two other separate threads just to moan about it. |

I presume Louise has recieved a PM for making 'a personal attack' since she hasnt been reprimanded in public? Looks like the honeymoon period could be over for us both? |

You don't think starting a sarcastic thread belitting other peoples threads is 'having a go'? Or posting and saying their threads are pointless? Simple answer is just ignore the threads if you're not interested.
And Louise didn't make a personal attack, she made a sarcastic comment which nobody has reported. So no need for any action. I feel it was a personal attack (however unlike some I fail to see the point in reporting/removing/editing or otherwise sanctioning everything I disagree with) |

No need to always stir things up. ...and you should know better than to insert yourself into the middle of it and continually stir the damned pot. As a moderator you should know when bite your tongue and to stay out of things. You're all acting like bloody two years olds, for goodness sake grow up. |

I haven't closed any threads, or deleted Butch's sarcastic one either. I've only responded to those that have replied directly to me, in a polite manner. Hardly 'stirring the pot'. |

Hardly 'stirring the pot'. It's got nothing to do with closing or deleting threads. If you want to get in a fight with someone and bring threads to their attention the do it via PM not the way you currently operate. Your modus operandi is completely at odds with the way a moderator should function. |

I know you didn't agree with the celeb death threads either, but people were perfectly entitled to post them, read them, comment on them, etc. If some people want to ignore them, that's fine, but I was just pointing out that there is no need for the sarcasm. :) |

You have to realise that when you took on the responsibility of being a moderator you have accepted a position that is above the regular poster. |

As for the dead 'uns... yep, cgaff. That's why I didn't respond to that thread, or bother to respond to this one until I saw the saintly Steve P get into a fight with CO over Butch. Then I could give a ff. :p |

This thread had the potential to be quite entertaining. As it is, we are heading for a rather dull re-run of the 'Oh So Quiet.......' thread ... yawn. |
