Masks

Re: Masks
Yes to sanitizer but no gloves I'm afraid. That seems like overkill. Total cabin reevaluation has ensued. Yes, cars from the 1950s were beautiful but where do you put the sanitizer? There are no pockets, no console, that Gerry Coker may have been good with a pen but he lacked foresight.

Re: Masks
I think it's more a question of the risk has minimised. Of course Kelowna has been centre of media attention recently and people here are up in arms but what did they expect? It's only because we have now had some of the secrecy removed that we are hearing exact locations of the infections and we should not be surprised that a city with over 100,000 people will have some positive infections listed. (Only 21 in 5 million!)
Perhaps Kelowna didn't publish them because they didn't have any

Re: Masks
I notice far less mask use in Kelowna compared to Vancouver.

Re: Masks
? Our City publishes the cases daily and has done since day 1. - As does Ontario (see page 9 - updated daily info) https://files.ontario.ca/moh-covid-1...2020-07-19.pdf (opens in new tab)

There is an ashtray, in fact I feel slightly inadequate whenever not smoking while driving. I suppose that Americans kept their cigarettes in the cap sleeves of their tee shirts while Brits had a place for them in their tweed jackets or mustard waistcoats. I don't think beer especially goes with sports cars, a hip flask would have been more the thing.
Beer goes with pick up trucks and four wheelers. indeed, an ATV wiped out this evening sending the passenger flying across the road almost under the wheels of my estranged wife's truck and trapping the driver. The cans of beer the driver and passenger were enjoying did go under the truck. I would not like to be either of them when the booze wears off and the gravel rash does not.

Re: Masks
It wasn't that so much as our strange lack of detailed info from Dr Bonnie Henry who would give stats as "6 infections from Interior health" which is a massive area! The did not until very recently start to name specific locations apart from where care homes had been involved and many local people thought that was poor compared to other parts of Canada where locations were known, others thought it was acceptable because that way we could just assume we were all at risk rather than only specific locations if that makes sense.

Re: Masks
It seems to have generated a lot of comments now from locals who were continually asking for more detailed information but now we have it they are panicking that we are heading into a downward spiral with some saying they won't venture downtown or to beaches, bars for the foreseeable yet before we had specifics they all went about their business whilst being told continually that we should assume its everywhere and act accordingly

The mask for Apple users, $200 for a mask (leaf mask pro) is quite something.

That's about the equivalent price of three boxes of 50 disposable masks. It might pay for itself after 6 months or so.

Re: Masks
This is a few days old but I've just seen it (no sound but I think the plot's obvious). A man in a Montreal Tim Horton's doesn't want to wear a mask, the police are called (or let's face it, it's a donut shop and they may have just happened by). The part I like is when the officer holds up the can of pepper spray and offers the man a choice. There's obviously more to life than making all the right choices.

Oh more Police brutality let's defund the Police even more in fact disband them what do we need them for anyway. Shame there was no audio. What a complete bell end and you wonder why the Police sometimes are willing to sort of use more force as it was obvious he wanted to stand his ground and totally resistant. How do you reason with a twat like that. The man was arrested and then released with a promise to appear for interfering with police work.

I am not advocating the Police use more force than required but seriously who else on here puts up with the same amount of shit that the Police do?
