Lunchtime Choices

I was planning on having a ham and chutney sandwich for my lunch, but when I went to make it I discovered that the bread I bought yesterday was mouldy
Damn Superstore!
So in the end I had leftovers - last nights lasagne nuked in the microwave.

Sushi at weekends, sometimes brunch.
I make a 'batch' on a Sunday for hubby and I for the week ahead which comprises whatever I can throw together!!
Buying lunch in downtown Calgary is expensive. Average of $12.00 for a sarnie and a drink.

Sushi is on the things that I could never be arsed to make. If you're going to eat sushi go to a good place as cheap sushi disgusting.

I LOVE sushi but always make.ours. I found so many links on YouTube that it made sense. I can make enough for 20 at the same price as buying it for 2, and it tastes much better. Today for lunch we had 'proper' Spag Bol and I had three visiting kids who all loved it so I count that as success! I'm always nervous feeding other people's kids....

Mr Chookie and I are going to have sushi for dinner tonight as well...
I actually find making sushi quite relaxing - I get into a "zone" while doing it. The trick is to have everything ready before hand so that when it comes down to it, you can just fill roll and slice.
I agree that you can make it yourself very cheaply - there is now way I could afford to feed my gannets of a family sushi if I didn't make it myself.

Having a plate of hot and spicy chicken wings to go along with a well earned lunchtime pint.
