People. Glass houses. I suppose yours were hand picked beans encased in a tomato reduction, nestled on a bed of home baked bread, complimented by lashings of worcestershire coulee.
I do enjoy work functions in hotels, it's a fine way to sample food that you would never elect to eat together on a normal day. The french fancies took me by surprise. Not Mr. Kipling, sadly.

Today I had toasted cheese and fried egg. Nowt French or fancy there.

The fancies were small though. I surveyed them and thought that they were bigger when I was growing up. Just like creme eggs and wagon wheels. Nowadays they are teeny.
