This is only a forum at the end of the day it's not the be all and end all. So what if the question has been asked 100 times before - if you don't have time to answer it, then leave it to those who do. So what if the questions seems stupid to you - perhaps the person is not familiar with the Internet or with message boards etc. etc. so cut them some slack. There have been a few posts on here recently from newcomers complaining about snotty replies. If the question has been asked 5000 times before, surely a proper response might be to suggest that the poster searches for similar threads - and tell them how to do it. I know that there are instructions, sometimes newcomers don't even know where to find the instructions. Or just answer the question again. Is it such a big deal? I think if you don't have anything nice or constructive to say - then don't bother saying it! I would think it was very hurtful to be a newcomer asking a "stupid" question and getting a rude snotty response. And now I suppose I will get responses saying that their mission in life is not to be nice to people - that is their prerogative - I personally try to be nice most of the time. I always like your posts Liz you always seem so friendly and willing to help, more people should be like that. If your ever in Edinburgh your welcome for a cup of tea lol :D Emma x |
