I have another small world story.

Around 7 years ago my friend Lynn and her husband flew from Aberdeen to Perth, Australia to visit Lynn's sister and family. One night they went to a party and was introduced to another couple who had moved from Aberdeen to Perth a few years previously.

Whilst chatting away they discovered that the couple they just met had actually lived in the exact same house in Aberdeen that Lynn and her hubby were currently living in.

Aberdeen has a population of around 300,000 so that's a lot of houses in the mix.

My Dad who works in a sawmill in Scotland was talking to a customer one day a few weeks ago and he got on about his up coming holiday to visit us in Canada, well the customer was saying oh you'll love it there its a lovely country, my wife is Canadian, oh my Dad says where does she come from, Saskatchewan he says she was brought up in a small town called Warman........
That is where I now live. how spooky eh.
So the next time the man comes to visit his wifes family he's going to come and visit us.

One of our patients (a Canadian) this year asked me where I was from, and when I told him Worthing, Sussex, he said he'd lived in Bognor Regis for several years in the 50's and had dated a girl from Worthing.

It turns out she was a friend of my parents.

My other story is more contrived than coincidental I suppose, but my best friend from College in Wales, who was also my bridesmaid and has lived all round the world ever since we qualified with her husbands work (BP), now lives about an hour from here. That's not so surprising cos it was visiting her that made us fall in love with Alberta and decide to come here.

What gets me is that her son and mine, who have met briefly over the intervening years now find themselves fellow students at University and are fast becoming best friends too!
