-28.5 on the car thermometer this morning. The worst this winter so far. I hate the days when it's so cold that the dog won't shit.

I have never met anyone looking forward to a dog crapping
-28.5 is cold? Hmmmm...I guess -35 plus with windchill is out of the question then?

Get to see places you would never see taking highways, some interesting small towns along the rail lines, with some nowhere near a major highway.

It's +2 here, no wind chill, to be +9 later today.
I just want 1 or 2 cold days, for I can at-least turn the heat on once this year. My apartment stays 15-20 degrees and the heaters are completely off.

Its a little nippy for where I am.this morning.
Thing one in the back of the car had on:
a hoody
her lined knitted monkey toque
her fleecy pengiun hat with wrap aroung scarfy thing
her hood!
Poor kid hasnt had an outside recess for weeks because of the ice that remains from the ice storms over the Xmas period.

Thing one wearing two animal hats is absolutely amazing. She's awesome. You can tell her some stranger on the internet said she is super kick-ass. (I have a unionjack hat I bought the day I got my British citizenship... my husband rolls his eyes whenever I wear it... BOOOOOOOOO.)
Also your -33 is insane. My car had -21 this morning, which is the coldest I've seen it so far. (Brand new car, bought at the end of November... it's having a hell of a baptism of fire... er, baptism of ice...)

My car doesn't have anything as sophisticated as a thermometer. It was bloody cold this morning, though, nostril-hair-freezingly cold. The oil in the gearbox wasn't very liquid - first half dozen gearchanges were somewhat notchy... The radio reckoned it was about -26 with around seven extra degrees of wind chill.
The car also has a fuel efficiency meter on it... the past few weeks have been pretty awful... it's sad. I've stopped leaving it on the display. :P
My phone is telling me it currently is -20C, feels like -26.
So, you know, balmy.

The clutch in the civic is hydraulic I think, every change this morning was like there was a tennis ball under the pedal!

)Then I stuck my hand beside the heater, which I put on full blast, to de-thaw my fingertips.
LOL at the curse of the hat-hair!! Although, is anyone judging that much when it's minus stupid degrees outside? My husband went to his fancy banking job in his parka this morning.
(He just moved to Canada - Oakville - in September. He asked many times what winters were like. My family assured him that it was not that bad. He thinks we are all full of sh*t. :P)
