The Invasion of the Dull Housewives

I was in correspondence today with a well respected member of BE who mentioned that she was staying away from the board these days because there are "too many dull housewives" on recently.

In the interests of plausible deniability, I shall say no more of the source of this delicious phrase.

Discuss.

Thought this had been covered?

Cross ref 'tedium' thread and 'A Woman Named Dave'?

Isn't repeating endless crap about how tedious this all is, and the membership has become, well, just adding to the tedium? Can we talk about something else, anything else? Pleeeease..... Even if it's only my tasteless post on the Canadian Tire Scrotum Scrub?

(Puts on flack jacket and prepares to be wasted. As if.):p

For the record, I am neither dull, nor a housewife, but being a housewife does not imply a lack of humour or intellect.

Bring it on.

I'm a housewife!

Well, technically, I would be if I could be bothered to do any actual housework. Instead I play poker and lurk round here....so do tell us who said this?

thats a bit sad really that the well respected member was staying away because of dull housewives:rofl: makes me laugh. i presume you are getting at man called susan which is one thread out of goodness knows how many. its not harming anybody and its not being rude to other people. or should we just join the threads that are moaning about canada. im not a housewife and i am certainly not dull.
is that like saying that we are not respected members? if thats the case i will have a refund and be the member that stays away cause everybody is moaning.

Well, that rather narrows the field, doesn't it? Which member of our motley crew can claim to be respected?

I would just like to say....

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.
Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote the 'Hokey Kokey' died peacefully at the age of 93.
The most traumatic part for his family was getting him in the coffin.
They put his left leg in. And that when the F***ing trouble started..

Each to their own. Perhaps its better that they do stay away, if they are unhappy with the forum.

Personally, I prefer to live and let live. If you dont like a thread, then dont read it. There are lots of other interesting threads in different areas of the forum....;)

I'm not getting at anything (or anyone). I simply report a remark from another. And suggest it be discussed.

BTW, it's also been pointed out to me in a PM that HWP has deleted her account for the same reason.

Me too! Or aren't strumpets allowed an opinion?:p

My point which I make repeatedly is that we all make the forum what it is. If we don't like it then start some new threads, and steer clear of the ones we don't like...?

Re: The Invasion of the Dull Housewives

I don't really understand the all the fuss. If you start reading a thread and it isn't for you then don't read it...and if there aren't enough "decent" discussions for you on here, then go elsewhere and find some or start a new thread.

Emigrating is an all consuming thing and to find people doing the same thing as you is like a breath of fresh air and so what if you want to speak to each other about "tedious" things - at least your forgetting about all the stress you are under at that moment in time.

Just my opinion.

Exactly. The forum cant possibly be the "everything" to everyone. If a person is unhappy with forum to that extent, then its in their own best interest to either spend less time here, or delete their account. Its their choice, no one has been scared off.

Im sorry to hear tahat HWP deleted her account. I always enjoyed reading her threads and comments.
