Sure was, with my youngest daughter ( I think I was live). A daughter dad moment that was priceless, once in a lifetime memory (for her too I hope). The streets buzzed for hours afterwards. Saw lots of Canadian flags, but not many American. The yanks played a hard game, but did not look too chuffed to have lost to Canada :)

Did you get many pictures? If so could you post or make a link to them?
Usually not much of an enthusiast myself, went for my daughter who loves sport. The whole atmosphere though totally takes over and it would be hard for anyone not to be caught up in it. I was opposed to the Olympics, but once they were here we had to make the most of it. I must say Vancouver to a pretty spectacular job of the whole thing. |

Really did, our Kiwi commentators over there are gushing about the whole thing, the games themselves, Vancouver as a city, Canada as a country and especially the people. |

Great result for the Canadian Mens Hockey Team. Makes me very proud to be a Canadian. Wish I could have been in my home country.... bet the atmosphere was fantastic.... Cheers Karen |
Re: Iced Hockey...
I bloody well missed it, I was working my butt off, grooming 3 shih-tzu's and 1 dog the size of a horse:frown:
Anyway, glad they won, get it up ye useless Yanks:thumbsup: |
Re: Iced Hockey...
It was a great game and on the day I think the better team won. USA are great competitors and, as said on the BBC broadcast of the game, it's one of the world's great rivalries. The even compared it to England vs Germany in soccer. I think that's somewhat far-fetched, nevertheless we won GOLD and that's what's important.

Re: Iced Hockey...
I didn't see the end but am pleased it was a story book ending to the games, as well as the medals (even if I count the non Canadian / USA way -gold >silver>bronze).
enjoyed the coverage too, thanks to bbci |
