Hi everyone,
This was my first experience of seeing Canadian wildlife, after setting off towards MB for a recce trip. We set off from a place called Dryden early in the morning and saw this great big thing just plodding across the road. It was gigantic and considering the images of wolves that I've had before thinking they were dog size but this thing was huge. I swear it was 5 foot! in fact, when we first saw it we were like 'what the heck was that' because we thought they were only dog size. It was also on its own which makes me think it could have been kicked out of the pack.
Has anyone else seen these before - I'd love to hear more about them and feel quite humbled that I got to see him. I looked it up on the net and it appears to be a Timber wolf.

How so? where is your evidence for a 5' tall wolf? 5' at the shoulders would make the animal well over 6' to the top of its head.
Many people appreciated the excitement of seeing a large wolf in the wild but doubted the size. That's hardly incorrect information.
Anyway if you no longer bother with the site how come you managed to read the thread?

I wasn't actually referring to this post containing incorrect information i.e. I wasn't referring to the size of the wolf - okay?
I no longer bother posting on this site as there is a certain bunch of folks who 'appear' to think they know everything about everything and always like to have the last word. I personally have been offered some excellent advice / info but unfortunately have also been offered totally inaccurate advice / info too. If I'd have been daft enough to listen to the latter, I wouldn't have secured Canadian PR.
I guess I also should have made it clear that I do bother to read my private messages on this site from the genuine, lovely and interesting folks that I've been fortunate to converse with on this site. One such person being greentea3.
Finally, I personally will continue to no longer bother to offer advice / info for fear of ridicule and others bickering over facts from the cliquey bunch.
Wow - glad I got that off my chest!
Thanks to all the good folks out there. To the others - get a life, try other activities, get some fresh air maybe?!

It is up to the reader to figure out what to do with the information. It is at best a small part of your research and not a replacement of such.
I doubt anyone is daft enough to take what is said on here as anything more then opinion and continue their research with the appropriate authorities.

FYI I guess I should have been a little bit more explicit. I assumed, obviously wrongly before you jump down my throat, that people would read between the lines.
