Well, thanks to the believers, the haters, the muppets and the comedians. I'd also like to thank my lovely hubby who warned me about posting on here as he told me I'd get ridiculed and also told me not to bother posting as people have nothing better to do than to discredit what other people say on here.
I think I've learned my lesson now - just keep my mouth shut and just share my experiences with my friends and people who pm me on here.
It's funny because I've received quite a few messages from people saying exactly the same thing that they don't bother posting now because it seems that some people have nothing better to do than berate them and rubbish them.
So, sorry to everyone if I offended you with my sighting - if it makes you feel better I will from now on say that wolves can only be dog sized.

toss thinking they know just about everything, when they were clearly wrong! Despite that, there is still a select bunch who give excellent advice / info. Anyway - hope all is going well and I can honestly say I enjoyed your post. Take care x

Try to take every answer with a pinch of salt, ignore those you don't have time for and don't take anything personally.

Many people appreciated the excitement of seeing a large wolf in the wild but doubted the size. That's hardly incorrect information.
Anyway if you no longer bother with the site how come you managed to read the thread?

This 5' at the shoulders wolf would place it in the same implausible group as the Loch Ness Monster and the Yeti (Abominable Snowman).

Does it matter? 51 posts full of bickering about the size of the wolf seen seems a little silly to me.
OK, so while the size may be in question, it really shouldn't make any difference. Personally, I would prefer to see said beastie at a safe distance, preferably withing the confines of my vehicle, and I wouldn't care if it were 2' at the shoulder or 10'.. The teeth will still be sharp, regardless.
Why not just allow these folks to enjoy and share their excitement?

How so? where is your evidence for a 5' tall wolf? 5' at the shoulders would make the animal well over 6' to the top of its head.

Oh get over yourself. Nobody doubted you saw a big wolf. There is no need to get upset just cos people took the mickey out of your over the top exaggeration of it's size.

Hi everyone,
This was my first experience of seeing Canadian wildlife, after setting off towards MB for a recce trip. We set off from a place called Dryden early in the morning and saw this great big thing just plodding across the road. It was gigantic and considering the images of wolves that I've had before thinking they were dog size but this thing was huge. I swear it was 5 foot! in fact, when we first saw it we were like 'what the heck was that' because we thought they were only dog size. It was also on its own which makes me think it could have been kicked out of the pack.
Has anyone else seen these before - I'd love to hear more about them and feel quite humbled that I got to see him. I looked it up on the net and it appears to be a Timber wolf.
