I stripped all the beds yesterday and I am doing a few loads of laundry today too. Dirty clothes pile up very quickly with 2 adults and 2 stinky teenagers

We've just been in our pool to cool down too - it's so muggy. Rain just starting now. Checked the tracker and Bill's 200 miles from Halifax, so 300 miles from us

all flights to and from Halifax suspended
Ferry to Maine, PEI and Newfoundland cancelled
power outages at Yarmouth, St Margaret's Bay and south end Halifax
traffic jam at Peggy's Cove as loads of nutters go to see the waves:eek:

Hi all

We have only been here a week!! Was not expecting a hurricane !! Not sure quite what to expect. We have brought everything in as advised and filled the bath tubs. We have now realised that we have nothing to cook on , so its jam sandwiches all round if the power goes

We are in fall river and its pretty windy at the moment. Well we did say we came for adventure ;)

Hi guys, been listening to the reports on the radio and they are saying that it is picking up speed and will be clear of NS by about 3-4pm.

Amy, apparently you are in a brief lull, another phase will pass over you (another bit of info from the radio report).

Stay safe peeps.

Karen

some pictures taken at 11 am (high tide)
we had some spectacular waves here on the South Shore, luckily no property damage from the wind, which was not as strong as expected, however some of our land flooded

Looks like Air Canada are gonna attempt to bring in a couple flights today.

AC 184 from Calgary left ontime and is currently inflight for Halifax.

Looks like AC is going to bring in 4 arrivals this evening Halifax time, 1 from Calgary, 1 montreal and 2 from Tortonto.

Westjet appears to be bringing in a couple flights this evening as well.

Still not a good day to travel at all.

everything is starting to get back to normal now that the storm has passed. Looks like most of us escaped the worst of it. It's stopped raining now but still quite windy

Yep it was very bad rain over this side all morning, and the wind got up, but I think we escaped the worst of it as I have seen much worse winds here in the past.

Phew what a relief!
