seems very scary you guys - I've only experienced severe storms here, nothing like what you will get, and its really unnerving.

(just make sure your laptop batteries etc are fully charged to give us a blow by blow account if you can get internet access - we wanna know you're safe )

Um, if the power is out then the modem and router will be dead so no internet access. And thats assuming the phone/cable lines survive;)

We're stocked up with food and water & tommorrow we put the garden furniture/bbq away, plus stake out all the trees we planted this year. Then we'll wait and see what Monday brings.

We were camping at Smiley's this weekend and they announced park closure and everyone had to leave by 5pm .... in fact they said NS all parks have been closed.

Hope it's not too crazy!

Well the wind has picked up here, but its still really hot and stuffy which isn't helping the situation, lets all hold on tight and see what tomorrow brings :unsure:

Well it is 9.17am now and the wind is getting worse and the rain has started. From all accounts we should get a good kicking by Bill here on the Eastern Shore. So all we can do now is sit it out!

Have a pile of board games ready to entertain the kids once the power goes out, as we fully expect it to - our neighbour over the road has a tree that has been threatening to fall on the power lines for sometime now and I think today may be the day it goes!

Good luck everyone!

Re: Hurricane Bill

9 am here in Halifax local time, rain getting heavier outside, very dark and wind picking up, looks like Bill will get here around lunchtime, downgraded to category 1 hurricane now
think Amydavid and destinationnovascotia are going to be worst hit along the eastern shore, sea already really rough here in the Bedford Basin, and high spring tides mean storm surge will be higher too
think this will be one birthday OH wont forget:eek:

Just after 9.30 in Truro. Nothing to speak of here. It's been raining but no wind and not even heavy rain....yet ! I was here through Juan and that was quite something.

Just had 10 mins of torrential rain and now the wind has died down again. I think 11am is when it is supposed to get worse. Watch this space for more exciting updates from me..lol
