The subject of much debate on other threads: how much money are British immigrants to canada arriving with? Is it a fortune or a pittance?
Please do the poll. It is anonymouse - everyone only gets to see the overall results not your own individual net worth!
The amounts are per family, not per person.

I think the question could be slightly better phrased as 'how much money did you bring over to start your new life in Canada?' Many arrive with not much but transfer a sum over at some point, usually connected to sale of a property in UK. For us this was a year after arriving.

The problem with the "per family" figure is that we then need to know how many people are in each family in order to arrive at an average figure per immigrant. I suppose we could just assume six or eight.

I would go with AX's suggestion and use the concept of the amount of money you brought in total to start your new life rather than what you had with you the day you landed. If everyone else is okay with that?

I think there are some figures on that somewhere though. Both numbers of people coming in and the average family size. I will see if I can find them.

And did you move to Canada with the aspiration of becoming a millionaire (i.e. by doing the currency conversion)?
