How did you / your husband propose?
#1
I was having coffee in the kitchen with a friend, and husb (Canadian) was downstairs doing some renos to the basement with his dad.
He all of a sudden came running upstairs, stopped dead and announced, I'm not going to lose you we are going to get married and thats the end of it" and went back downstairs to finish playing with tools!
When he told his brother we were getting married (apprently with tears in his eyes
) - his bro asked where, when, how etc.
Hubby replied it would be a small affair maybe at his sisters place (really nice big house and acreage to fit the family into). Brother announced "TO HELL YOU ARE? WE'RE ALL GOING TO VEGAS AND I'M PAYING"
I wouldn't change a damned thing about it and we got married in April in the Valley of Fire, Las Vegas baby

Me: "Well, if there is no other way to get a visa I suppose we'll have to get married."
I'm an old romantic really.

Thai restaurant, St Christophers Place, London. Presented her with a bespoke diamond and emerald ring.
Me: "so you better wear this on your left hand I guess"
Her: "why?"

He got down on one knee in the pub and started spouting some latin poetry at me - IN LATIN fgs!
And we eloped - well we went to the registry office, just him, me and the kids.. then we came home and confessed to all our friends and family what we had done. Our witnesses were a couple we met in the street and asked if we could "Borrow them" for a short while. And we went to the pub for a beer and a meal after.
The only thing I would change is the fact that we have no photos

My OH had tried to propose whilst on a barge near Llangollen with some friends, but apparently every time he thought the moment had come to do it, one of them interrupted us!
He came to stay at my flat in Liverpool the following weekend and I made a Sunday roast. I didn't have a dining table, so we had to sit with the plates on our knees and OH kept spilling garden peas off hos fork all over my carpet because his hands were shaking so much with nerves
He thought I might say no!
Eventually he got down on one knee and asked me.
He was supposed to be getting the train back to Kent to his flat that evening, but he told me he couldn't leave me now we were engaged and I had to go with him, so I threw some clothes in a bag and we had champagne on the train out of plastic cups to celebrate.
OH was full of the joys and telephoned his parents from the station to tell them his great news. When he announced, "I'm getting married!" they replied, "Who to?".
I have never been very popular with my in-laws

She doesn't mention this very often. She does, however, constantly remind me of my reaction to her telling me she was pregnant. Apparently my first words were, "Oh ****, how are we going to manage on one salary?"

Took her into Tiffany & Co, had 5 diamond rings lined up and had written her name on one of them. After i proposed, she picked the right one, thank goodness.
I'm dead romantic me. Unlike you buggers. Where's your imagination/romanticism?
