Around 4 degrees above zero here (Comox, Vancouver Island) and no snow at all this winter. Some of the bulbs are already up and thinking about flowering. I expect to see at least a few snowdrops in a couple of weeks. Anybody else got any signs of spring?

Cold as cock here today and will be for some time.
We came back from Quebec City on Saturday after ten days of basically no weather. It started snowing about 50km from home. Then it kept snowing. Then the freezing rain started. I'm bloody glad we came home on Saturday. Yesterday involved smashing ice off the snow before I could shovel it. Then it warmed-up and rained. Then it froze again. Horrible. Moving around outside on foot is actually dangerous. I have a dental appointment tomorrow morning. I could get there by bus but I doubt I'd make it to the bus stop. I have booked a taxi and asked that it back all the way up my drive so I have a fighting chance of getting to the taxi without adding a visit to ER.
Trees covered in ice and glistening in the sunshine are very very pretty, seen through a window.......
I got somewhat nervous last light when the freezing shit was coming down and the lights started flickering. Freezing rain and power lines are not friends.
All heating thermostats were immediately switched to Warp 9.

Had a large variation of temps today, but was traveling all day, left home at +3 saw a high of of +14 at one point, and now back home it's +1.
The town is still a bit of a mess because of the snow, we got a lot of snow, made a mess this morning since it rained all night and most stores/businesses didn't plow their parking lots, and the snow the city piled into the middle of the streets made left turns near impossible.
But I saw tractors out clearing the snow off the roads, so tomorrow should be better, and I saw the city cleared most of the side walks as well. Sunday and Monday morning pedestrians were walking in the road as there was nowhere else for them to walk.

Forgive me for asking a dumb question but I'm a 'light the woodburner, it's down to 19 degrees C' person, but what do you wear when going to work in those really low temps? I honestly can't imagine ever getting out of bed.

Well it won't be debuting on the runways of Milan this year I can assure you of that.

Thanks for that. I had visions of everyone looking like michelin man. I try not to think about being cold so strangely I'd not really thought about it before. Now I'm off to bed with the temp at a lovely cool 22 degrees C.
