The original quaker oats instant has no sugar.
The flavored ones do of course, and the instant original has extra stuff the normal version doesn't have. The old fashioned original and steel cut from quaker both have 1g of sugar per 40g serving. |

That's 'sugars' not 'sugar'. The term sugars includes naturally occurring ones as well as added. Steel cut and rolled oats contain a little natural sugar, as does milk.

I know it's naturally occurring.

Does anyone here shop at
https://www.mmmeatshops.com/Sitefini...mages/logo.png? It always looks so expensive to me. Everything looks at least 50% more than the equivalent product elsewhere. The only possible advantage appears to be a better range of the sort of thing that's not as freely available in Canada as it is in the UK. |

They have seniors discount every Tuesday and good discounts on flyers. |

They certainly have impressive looking discounts. The latest flyer has several "save $5" offers. But I'm not really impressed by 454g shrimps @ $10.99 or large ones @ $17.99 for 567g (normally $15.99/$22.99). The last ones I bought were $6.99 for 320g and those before were $5 for 300g. Even Sobeys (the more expensive of the supermarkets in these parts) has 227g for $4.99. I'll give them the Lasagne looks very good @ $10.99 for a four pounder. Unfortunately half of this household won't eat a store bought version. If you're doing a finger food thing and you want more than delicate sarnies, sausage rolls and wings, without cooking it yourself then, yes, they do look good. But you could probably save in Harrods food hall. Apart from the fare to get there of course. |

Still, it's my fault they moved. I should have given them my custom previously. |

I brined the pork ribs in salt and sugar for about 30 hrs then rubbed them with spices and let them sit for another 6 or so before putting them in the smoker. Rinsed out the hoisin and sweet chili bottles, added some bbq, hot wing sauce and soy then dosed the ribs with that and let it drip down onto the hot Italian sausages. Jazzes up my menus for a few days.

Anything else you'd recommend from there?? I was given a $25 gift card ages ago that I still haven't spent, but if you have some recommendations for something from there then I'll pick that up. I can get on board with a lasagne... or the sausages as bats as pointed out... any other recommendations?

Re: Groceries
Always thought it looked a bit pricey. I was hoping it would be a bit more like Iceland.
I did pick up 7 boneless legs of fresh lamb half price in superstore the other day. The best before date was the following day. I asked them behind the counter if they would reduce them. Jobsworth woman started by saying well I cant really reduce them until tomorrow because they still have a day left....:confused::banghead: I asked to speak to the supervisor.....showed him and told him that if he reduced them by 50 percent I would buy all 7. No problem!! Sold lol :thumbsup::thumbsup: |

Interesting about the lamb. I don't normally check dates unless there's actually a reduction highlighting it's already coming up. I might have to pay more attention now. But for Superstore I would have expected a 30% reduction label already on the day before. |
