Look at these things from one of the dollar stores, each one has 4 different spice blends.

I'm sure my fellow cheapskates/bargain-shoppers are already aware & keep tabs on this sort of thing, but:

Got a bit annoyed at Maxi last week:
EV olive oil labelled (on shelf in store) as "special 5$" for a 1l bottle. First, the bottles on display were 750ml; second, when I toddled over to the customer service counter to point this out (yes, I'm that obnoxious) the 750ml scanned at 7,99$ when they checked. Grrr...

Yes, I got a 5$ coupon to appease me, no I'm still not happy because when I dropped into the store again yesterday, the display had not been altered :(.

Probably sold out of the litre bottles, although the display should be changed. Bigger items are often cheaper - not just better value (price per 100g sort of thing), actually cheaper. Quite common with cereals.

On the other hand two half sizes are often cheaper than the whole.

One of the nice things about Shoppers Drug Mart and Superstore is when they have an offer on a particular brand of something and that brand sells out (or they didn't get the stock in) they will often provide an alternative for the same price.

For some reason it happens a lot with Butter.

Those look excellent. Which dollar store stocks them? (or is it The Dollar Store)

Pumpkin continuation from above extra foods recuded the price to 2.49. The rest are 2.99 or 3.99 still.

They're $3.99 per kilo here. I bought one yesterday and it was nearly $16.

They are grown locally in BC, and nobody would pay that price here since they are primarily used for Halloween.

Are they imported to Australia or grown locally?

Imported food stuffs here have increased a large amount this year local grown is lower but not much local stuff this time of year.

Local being used in regards to being grown in BC.

Grown locally here, too. I used to grow them in my garden when my ex and I were together. The orange jack o'lantern type are used primarily for Halloween, but pumpkins (squash in N America) in general are really popular food here.
