Superstore had Boneless Cross Rib for $3.99 a few days ago.
Sometimes it makes a really good roast. Today was one of those.
A $12 chunk was too big for one meal for four so we had two-thirds roasted with the other third to be braised or something tomorrow.
Will slow cook with red wine, stock, onions and whatever else I decide to sling in.

'Pound for pound' goodness & value, take a box of 10 pack sachet's of 'quick instant quaker oatmeal' for $1.99 ($0.20/serving) at 'No Frills' is more healthy than the 'cross rib roast' meal

$12 for the Roast, plus another $12 - $15 [is my guess] for the bottle of plonk to soak the Roast in?

Instant oatmeal is like eating wallpaper paste, disgusting. (Bulk Barn has 'proper' rolled oats on special at $1.09 a pound).

I often buy a large roast and use the leftovers for a couple of other meals. It works out quite economically.

Not even a bottle of wine. Well, not one anyway. I always save what's not drunk from a bottle and use it for cooking or adding to gravy. Currently have some white left, some rose and a couple of reds.
I think the only $7 wine available here is the alcohol free stuff in the supermarket.

I don't think many dieticians will agree. 'Proper' oats, perhaps but not the quick sugary version.
Nice to see someone paying attention.

The flavored ones do of course, and the instant original has extra stuff the normal version doesn't have.
The old fashioned original and steel cut from quaker both have 1g of sugar per 40g serving.

Nice try.
You had me going for a minute, until I saw it was only 250 ml size.
Ontario prices are a couple of bucks less than here. Certainly at the amounts I pay.
Unfortunately my tastes have changed and I struggle to find something I like these days. That's why I often have some left.
NB Liquor doesn't stock most of those I always found reliable.
