IME having to do work/write an essay on the book ruins the book. So i'll automatically tell you a book isn't that great if I had to read it for school.

I have noticed that literary criticism in my kids' school was overly formulaic, too much done 'by the numbers'. As I love reading and analysing, I really think you're missing out.

I tried to watch it via the ITV Player on my computer and it wouldn't load. This may be an ITV problem in general as I can't seem to get any shows to load on it. Firefox has an add-on that lets you watch shows on the ITV player.

With that kind of dogged determination to succeed and not take the easy way out the sky is the limit.

Can the teachers work out that students are cribbing answers from unreferenced sources or are you all too smart for that.

This might be one of the saddest things I've ever seen you write, Gozit. That book was phenomenal. One of my all-time favourites. Seriously, get off this forum and read that damn book. It's brilliant. Stop being so naive. Also, being proud of passing without reading the book and looking up the answers online is NOTHING to be proud of. Really. As has been said upthread, your loss.

We have a service that gives our whole house international content. It's on the list to watch this week. I just tried playing it on ITV player, works a treat.

Agreed. You're coming across as a little arrogant here Gozit. And your age is showing.

And Schnook, what is this magic thing of which you speak please? Last time I tried to watch ITV, it said I had an ad blocker that I know nothing about. Other sites seem to be able to bombard me with shite ads easily enough. I actually like the ads on ITV. Get a bit nostalgic

+100. Gozit, I'm afraid that you really are a loser in life after all. You're precocious for your age and that can be charming for a while, but FFS grow up a bit before bothering us again.

If you ever learn German you'd know what Leb' wohl means,

With you all the way on this Schnooks.

Read the book. Form your own opinions & perceptions . Then answer the questions set.

Okay, okay, alright. I apologise. I went a little over the top. At times I forget to think before I post... this was one of those times. All I was trying to do was illustrate Shard's original point but I went way too far. For the record, I do read the book and think its pretty good, but having to read back to find the answers to the questions is tedious.

"Farewell" "Goodbye". Having a german neighbour has its perks.

As for the rest of that post...

I like analysing too, but when it is in the form of having to answer specific questions about the "theme" and "point of view of x character" it gets old.
