Bristol, have you ever watched The Tunnel? It's practically the same as the Bridge, but set in France and England...guess where - in the Channel Tunnel! - I enjoyed it. I am enjoying the Bridge, which I started because you said it was so good, so, Thank You,
We are 3 episodes in on "Safe" and enjoy it. The character 'Sia' and her dad are annoying critters and the lead actors non-descript english accent wavers a bit. Filmed in the leafy suburbs of south Manchester (my old stomping grounds) which is an area that is usually absent from TV for series TV.

I thought he was the best character. I identify with him, although he's probably in a bit better shape than me.

New show on BBC called Hidden. It looks promising.

Watched the first episode of "The Handmaid's Tale". Bejesus ! Who watches this stuff ? It's a book I've meant to read, and still may do so, but watching a whole series or two that grim psychotic world is beyond me.

Oh look, another good one. Grenseland/Borderliner from 2017. Norwegian.

Just done the first two parts, pretty good so far.

On Netflix.

A Finnish one needs looking into. Sorjonen/Bordertown

Im watching "Safe" and enjoying it. I thought i would be distracted by Dexter being the lead but I'm not. His accent is good and acting different enough that you don't see Dexter and start wondering where the cling film is.

I'm watching. The lead cop has a bit of a monotone voice and I wasn't sure I'd be able to stick with it. But it is really very good, up to par and very effective use of music.

The fact that it's subtitled means one doesn't actually need to listen to the guy's voice, so I think I can get past that now and enjoy it.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned 'An Honourable Woman' on Netflix. Bloody brilliant. Palestinian/Israeli conflict with strong storyline and good acting. It really captures the grey, chaotic passion of the area, sympathetically...my family are away and I'm alone at the mo, and I get mega bored in the evenings, so have binge watched...I'm on the last episode tonight and will feel really sorry when it's ended... I can't wait to go home and watch it!

I too, tried Bordertown Bristol and will go back to it, it was a bit dark and chilly still when I started it and I can't do those more sombre series in bad weather. I will press on.

I don't know where my life would be without Netflix? I'm not 'that' shallow or simple minded, but knowing when I come home after a day that has been pretty stressful, that my mind can just switch off for an hour, in something different is bliss...I never watched much telly before here.

LOVE the idea of PEI Bridge Bristol! You have to get people interested in that project - Scandi, gone awesome!

I certainly find conventional "linear" tv with its scheduling and incessant bloody commercials difficult to watch these days. On demand watching through Netflix, Crave, Amazon Prime & iTunes is the only way ime. Although I do find myself scrolling through Netflix trying to choose something to watch much in the same way i used to wander the video rental store trying to make up my mind which to rent!

My top recommendation which I've posted about in the past, is the SciFi show "The Expanse'. Truly great, science based SciFi with a compelling plot & worlds, excellent effects and a pretty stellar cast. Season 3 just finished. Seasons 1-2 available on Crave I believe. Interestingly, this show didn't do so well on linear TV through SyFy in the US and Space in Canada and was cancelled a month or so ago. After a massive fan campaign which included flying an aerial banner over the Amazon headquarters it was picked up by Amazon Prime & announced by Jeff Bezos himself who apparently is a bit of a fan. It is a show that will work so much better on a streaming service. Plus it's filmed in Toronto!

My wife watched that and enjoyed it.

I'm watching a ten year old Canadian show called Intelligence all about CSIS and spies and money laundering etc that is quite good although at times its very Canadian production values come through.

We also watched S2 of Marcella which was so cheery and light

Better Call Saul starts up again soon and that is always good.

Another Chris Haddock gem. I prefer to think of the Canadian production values as the realism that's missing from much of American mainstream TV.
The Romeo Section was very good. JonboyE put me onto that.

Sorjonen/Bordertown on Netflix

Still watching and enjoying it. I'm not sure what's most disturbing, the crimes or the writers' imaginations for coming up with them.

'Night and Day' on Prime, Spanish thriller, well it's actually in Catalan, but the subtitles are OK.

From Denmark and on Netflix, Dicte.
Investigative reporter - Denmark's version of the Swede Annika Bengtzon perhaps - interacting with cop who has a rather amusing (and cute) sidekick.

Watched a two-parter last night.
