Re: Girl found alive
I don't think the whole truth will ever come out suffice to say it doesn't seem like a happy household for the kids :(

Re: Girl found alive
Apparently the mum met the daughter for first time at weekend and little girl said she wanted to stay at the foster home and not go back with her mum!!

Re: Girl found alive
I have to admit. I haven't followed this case that well (I don't follow the news really). I do think it's a bit strange though, that the guy who had shannon was actually her uncle (used to be known under a different name). Then, her stepfather who has child porn on his computer. Now, her mother under suspicion....
Yes, I do agree that Shannon should stay in foster care until this mess is sorted out. |

Re: Girl found alive
But - her mother was arrested yesterday for "perversing the course of justice" the word in the media here is that it was done for money, she knew more than she was letting on. Plus her mothers partner has been interviewed regarding child pornography found at the house. No wonder the Social Services are not letting her go home - get to the bottom of this first I say. Also, three members of Shannons family, have "apparently" phoned up the McCann fund and asked for money - then got "a bit upset" when they were refused until further evidence was given to them. I am sorry but this kind of thing really annoys me - children are a blessing (easily said for someone who craves one) and I know they can be little sods - but to do something like this appalls me.

Re: Girl found alive
Seems that the whole thing was a money making scam, mum and step dad were both in on it and the 'plot' was based on an episode of 'shameless' which is kind of ironic as Shameless is a tongue in cheek rip take of council estate life. Just classic that as 'real life' Shameless stereotype people they would think it a 'great idea'.
Peronally i think its disgusting, its cost approx £5million and has been one of the biggest 'manhunts' in the UK ( if not the biggest according to some papers), its totally vile that they could think this acceptable and totally trivialises the pain and suffering parents must go through when their children disappear - such as madeleine or holly and jessica. Icant possibly imagine the pain those parents must feel and for someone to come along and 'pretend' for money is sick. I hope they get a long time in prison and Shannon goes into Foster care - though knowing our system, they will get a 'hug' and a hand out ( as things must be desperate for them to go to these lengths) and we should all feel sorry for them.!!!!!!!!! oh and dont forget the rehabilitation and counselling - ugh |
Re: Girl found alive
Not only is she being charged with perversing the course but she is also being charged with child neglect. What goes on in the minds of people like this - are they that "hard up" they see their kids as money making tools.

Re: Girl found alive
You know what makes this stink even worse is that Damilola Taylors mum has just died of a heart attack aged 57........After her boy was stabbed to death in a stairwell she has spent all her time fighting for justice and helping out all the other deprived kids in her neighbourhood, so it wouldnt happen to them....and this mother of Shannon is only worried she might get sent to jail for this crappy stunt....at least her Daughter is alive and well enough....Some people don't deserve kids........Just a shame that foster people and prospective adopters will be few and far between, because they're not little babies...leaving the future of Mrs Matthews' 7 kids probably a lot bleaker than if they stayed with mummy.............
