Here is a thought, by recycling, are you preventing the poor souls that live in poor countries a living? I presume Canada and UK still send rubbish overseas?

I don't agree with this sentiment, but perhaps you can see the point.

I believe Toronto's rubbish is buried in America so, no, the idea that leaving the recyclable materials in the dustbin somehow benefits dump pickers in poor countries doesn't make sense to me.

Toronto's garbage (rubbish) is now sent to a site near St.Thomas, Ontario. The shipping to Michigan has, I believe, ceased.

Does this mean we don't sent all our rubbish to some far away country in Africa so that they can have a better life?😉
