That's not necessarily backwards... Most South American and Asian countries unashamedly prize beauty for the sake of it. Russia too. Western countries have just become more prudish lately.

I've been guilty of upgrading the more attractive women to first class when I was at the airline when they would flirt a bit.

But in general, we humans do favor the more attractive ones of our species, and there have been studies done on this.

We probably don't do it intentionally or even consciously at times and its likely wired into our brains more then most want to admit, but it does happen.

Seriously think it's genetic (favouring the lookers) but think it's quite disgusting to glamorise Knox just because she looks decent to some. Ick. Have some respect.

Karla Homulka's looks might have made that story easier for the media to sell too but in the end it's all about the disgusting crime. I haven't paid any attention to Knox but understand there's still one perpetrator to round up and her boyfriend tried to make a run for the Balkans, which seems a bit incriminating.
