I don't drink beer (I know it's sacrilege) and I'm no longer allowed power tools other than a drill (something about being left handed and using a circular saw).:eek:

If, like me, one is fortunate enough to have a garage and a shed, which is the technically correct storage location for the lawnmower?

You should be deported, if only for the beer sin. I'm sure they make left-handed power tools.

Oh please, it's the least toytown suburb I've ever seen. I only wish there had been the rule someone else mentioned about no garages facing the street. My house is dominated by the fugly things, thankfully it's only 2, 3 would have been unbearable!

And I keep the dog in the garage. The American neighbours seem to make theirs a verandah substitute with sofas facing out.

Oh how very Daily Express.

Why's my point not relevant? You seemed to take exception to people referring to it as a union jack because it should properly be called the union flag - as several posters have since pointed out, either is correct through over a century of common usage.

A bit of a silly point to argue over, anyway...

Left England at age 16 before I had the opportunity to go to the pub and develop my taste for decent beer.
21 was legal drinking age in Alberta when I arrived so I never got into the drinking routine here.
I do like cider does that help my cause any? ;)

MOH, 15 years Royal Navy insists that the flag can only be called a Union Jack when flying from on a ship. Though that "ship" could be shore based like the HMS whatevers they have in Portsmouth

So there.

Must be true, him indoors says so.

We have a tiny St Georges flag left over from archery shoots celebrating Agincourt, and a tiny Maple leaf stuck in a pen pot on the desk. I hope thats not too ostentatious

OK, they're a little more expensive.

I haven't been able to look cider in the face for 30 years.

We don't fly a flag but if we did then I would chose both the Maple Leaf and a Scottish flag like the Saltire or the Lion Rampant (both Scottish flags kinda make up the Nova Scotia flag).

I would fly the Scottish flag lower than the Canadian flag out of respect for my adopted country :)

...........Saltire............. Lion Rampant........Nova Scotia flag
