Re: Flu shots.

Hi Ruby, a while back, whilst still in Scotland, my partner and I started taking Bimuno, a prebiotic, once a day, on the recommendation of one of his clients. I'd never thought much about those sorts of things, having tried many preventative measures (echinacea, multiVitamins etc) and always caught whatever bug was going around. But this stuff actually worked. A few months after taking it regularly I realised I hadn't been ill, despite working in an office where people regularly came in coughing and spluttering and I regularly caught whatever was going round. And it has kept working I often avoided office illnesses when everyone else came down with them. I just don't get ill as often! It's great :)

You can buy direct from their website:
http://www.bimuno.com/
and they ship to Canada for only £4.85 which is pretty good. I get the original prebiotic powder and mix it into a cup of tea, no taste difference :)

Obviously I'm not saying this might stop you getting the flu, but I would highly recommend it to keep general colds and bugs at bay.

Probiotics are to aid the digestive system...they aid the growth of good bacteria in the gut. Never heard of them being used as a flu remedy.

Ah! But this one's a prebiotic. Quite different. It doesn't do anything at all except cost money which goes into the pocket of a charlatan.

<or more likely a typo which doesn't do....>

I'm pretty sure that's a homeopathic remedy for something or other.

It's a prebiotic. And it's worked for me for about 3 years now. I just don't really get ill any more. That's proof enough for me. And I'm not saying its a flu remedy, it's certainly not going to do any good if you've got flu, but it should strengthen your immune system, which might stop you getting it in the first place. Like I said, it works for me, my partner, his client, and other friends of ours who have tried it including one with Crohn's disease.
But if you haven't tried it, and don't know anyone who has, feel free to make your own judgements :p

I have a rock in my bedroom specifically designed to prevent lion attacks
Since purchasing it I have yet to be attacked by a lion

Obviously it works

were you frequently attacked by lions in your bedroom prior to putting the rock there?

Ah it's a special homeopathetic rock
Very rare
But highly effective
One rock can protect up to 3000 people (highly diluted you see)
It's yours for a very reasonable $30 000

I don't get the vaccine simply because I am not in a category for a free vaccine, haven't had the flu in eons, don't work around or live with anyone who is high risk, and money is tight, so the cost isn't worth it, and I'll risk it. I rarely even get a cold.

Interesting
I believe in Ontario it's free for everyone

Don't even have to leave the building

You are correct. It is free in Ontario. It's even now available at certain Shoppers Drug Marts.
