Just saw a post from Jood and written were these fab words:

"Laugh like a drain" has long been a fave of mine. I've only used it once in Canada. I then spent so long trying to explain it that I decided not to bother again.

An ex of mine's mother use to go raging through the house screaming "Les carottes sont cuites!! Les carottes sont cuites!!" She was positively wild and she often scared the hell out of me but I love that saying.
