I can't say for sure I haven't spoken with him that much about it.

I think he was marking mostly 30-1 essays I don't know if he was doing any 30-2s.

30-1 is the new curriculum equivalent to the old social 30 and the 30-2 is the new curriculum equivalent to the old social 33.

There are apparently some schools in the province still teaching the old curriculum, I'm not sure how many if any or how long they have to change over.

I did see on an exam timetable that there are 30 and 33 departmentals so I assume they must still be being taught somewhere in the province.

I think that part of the reason for going is money but I think it also gives him some idea where other schools are at in how well the subject has been taught and how his own teaching practices compare.
