Elevenses, afternoon coffee/tea
We have breakfast, lunch and tea time choices, why not one for morning or afternoon breaks. In my case, a break from what?
Nice cup of coffee now with a small slice of Christmas cake.
Only one of those brick ones, 'iced' with Marzipan but still not bad.

I don't usually have a morning break, but do take an afternoon break.
Often that is going down to the local independent coffee shop with OH, and usually meeting up with friends. I have a one shot medium soy latte. I sometimes buy a snack there, such as a very tasty ginger cookie that happens to be both gluten-fee and lactose-free ................ unlike most such food, they really are delicious and not at all dry and cardboard-y. They are so large that I usually can't eat it all, so end up taking the rest home.
If I don't have a snack there, I'll have something when we get home ......... maybe a German version of Graham cracker which is laced with honey (and doesn't taste at all like North American graham crackers!!), and top that with Ginger Marmalade. Two or 3 of those are a great snack.

We usually eat breakfast quite late in the morning, which pushes lunch time out etc etc. Scouse does like a late night snack though, usually a couple of slices of toast.
Elevenses (and food all through the day!) were a big part of my daily routine in the UK when we were having some building work done on the house. I made them bacon butties for breakfast, sandwiches and cakes for elevenses, meat pies or filled rolls for lunch, more sandwiches and cake for afternoon tea, usually with a few chocolates as well. And of course endless cups of tea and coffee, and sometime fresh orange juice. Hot home made soup on cold days went down well too. They were a fantastic team of builders, impeccable work, always on time, never left a mess, and were just really nice lads. It pays to look after good tradies.
They were quite sad when the jobs were finished because they said they'd never been looked after so well, bless them!

Cappuccino. If the foam is decent (it was) that can be a snack in itself.

Every weekday without fail I sit down for a cuppa somewhere between 10am -11am. Where I work it is encouraged to get away from your desk and take your breaks.

Braving fruit teas this week. Peach, surprisingly, better than raspberry.
